,Agriculture products play an important role in India’s economy. Agriculture has been the backbone of the Indian economy and it will continue to remain so for a long time. Agriculture is the predominant livelihood occupation of India.Over 70 % of the rural households depend on agriculture as their principal means of livelihood. Agriculture sectors (including agriculture, livestock, forestry and fishery) are expected to be 17.3 per cent of the Gross Value Added (GVA) during 2016-17 at 2011-12 prices.
